A superb example of a Victorian silver table snuff box. Made in London in 1859 by George Edgecombe, a very rare maker. It is engine turned on all the panels with a dot pattern, as crisp as the day it was made. Inside it has full gilding and a good set of very legible hallmarks. The 9 part hinge is tight and the lid fits very well. There is a vacant cartouch on top and an inscription on the base. The top edge has a cast rim of acorns and leaves. A very collectable piece of Victorian silver.
