A beautiful 9ct gold Luckenbooth style brooch with a facet cut green stone and two seed pearls. This dates to around 1920 and is in excellent condition. It has 9ct gold markings and comes boxed. Luckenbooths were reportedly first given as a love token by Mary Queen of Scots. In later centuries they were copied and made by Edinburgh silversmiths. They worked around St Giles Cathedral in "locked booths" hence the name of luckenbooth brooches. A great gift with a wonderful history.
