Dimensions:
A rare Victorian silver table vesta box fashioned as a cross belt cartridge pouch. It has a cast badge on top "CROWN with VR" for Queen Victoria. There is a striker on the bottom and a chain attached to both ends. The interior has original gilding and an inscription and two gold coins " Made From Gold Lace, worn in the 17th LANCERS, -1887 & 1888". The 17th Lancers mottos is "Death or Glory" and famously took part in the disasterous Charge of The Light Brigade during the Crimean War. The box is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs.
