An exceptionally rare early English antique silver apostle spoon. Made in London in 1616 by an unknown maker. It was made during the reign of James the 1st of England who was also James the VI of Scotland. It has a good set of hallmarks on the back of the shank (date letter "T', lion passant purity mark and unknown makers mark). On the top of the fig shaped bowl there is a partly worn Leopard's Head London town mark. Spoons this early are very hard to find in such good condition. A real collectors item.

WEIGHT; 57 grams or 1.9 ozst.
