Victorian antique silver Samson Mordan letter opener, London 1896

A very rare Victorian antique silver broadsword letter opener with its silver scabard. Made in London in 1896 by the famous Samson Mordan company, renowned for their superb quality. The sword and the scabard are both fully hallmarked and are in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. The sword fits neatly into the scabard which has a silver hallmarked chain hanger attached. A beautifully fashioned item which is very useable too.
