A rare George II silver snuff box with good bright cut engraving. The box was made in London by John White in 1737. The 5 part hinge is tight and well concealed in the engraving, the top closes very crisply. The interior is gilded and there are a full set of hallmarks on the base. Generally the box is in excellent condition with a great patina, there are some tiny pin head dings on the base and initials "A L" engraved. This is a good example of a very early George II silver snuff box.
