A good George III silver gilt snuff box, made in Birmingham in 1812 by Joseph Wilmore, one of the top box makers of his time. The box has engine turning and original gilt on all faces and sides. The interior is gilded and has a full set of hallmarks top and bottom. The nine part hinge is in great condition and the lid fits well. There is slight rubbing to the gilding and engine turning on the base. Overall an excellent box with no major damage or repairs.
