An excellent Scottish Victorian antique horn, silver and citrine snuff mull. Probably made in Edinburgh around 1860. Originally these type of mulls were fashioned by shepherds and were very primitive but this one was professionally made as many were. It is made from cow horn and has a typical curled pointed end. The top is cast silver with a cairngorm set in it. It has no hallmarks but has a silver cartouch with the letters “TMM” engraved. Overall it is in great condition given its age. These mulls are very collectable and this is one of the best.
