A rare and important William IV Antique Scottish snuff mull. Made around 1834 and has an inscription around the top “Colonel Ross KH to Robert Ross, Gardener Balnagown Castle, 9th July 1834”. It also has the letters “RR” on the top cartouch. It still has its original leather covered sealer on the lid and it closes firmly. Overall it is in remarkably good condition for its almost 200 years. It is a very tactile mull which sits well in your hand. A lovely piece of Scottish history. There is a picture of Balnagown Castle, the seat of the Clan Ross, in the photographs.
Weight; 112 grams approximately.
