A very unusual Victorian antique Scottish silver and granite barrel vinaigrette. Probably made in Aberdeen around 1860 by James Rettie. Although unmarked this granite vinaigrette is typical of granite items made by James Rettie during the mid Victorian period. Indeed this item is made from alternate bands of gray granite from Rubislaw quarry in Aberdeen and pink granite from the fishing town of Peterhead. It has a silver gilt grill intricately engraved on the interior and overall the vinaigrette is in really good condition. A great addition to any collection.

Weight; 35 grams approximately.
