A very rare York silver teapot that although it was date stamped for 1838 still has William IV's duty stamp. It has the York town mark and was made by James Barber and William North. There was an assay office in York until 1858. The teapot is in excellent condition with only a few very light bruises on the spout. An excellent piece of English Provincial silver. Very useable and collectable.
